Why hasn't the information in a CV been redacted?

Our CV redaction tool is designed to meet industry benchmarks, delivering an accuracy rate of 92%+. However, there are instances where a CV may not be fully redacted. This can occur for a variety of reasons, such as:

  • File Format Issues: If a candidate uploads their CV as an image file, the content must first be processed using OCR. This can reduce accuracy, making it more difficult to reliably identify and redact personal information.

  • Formatting Irregularities: Unconventional formatting - Using a two-column CV layout where the candidate’s contact details run vertically down the left-hand margin in a text box or table.

  • Document Orientation: Documents submitted in landscape rather than the standard portrait orientation may not be processed correctly.

  • Redaction Rules: The settings are not configured to remove certain types of data - such as personal details, company names, or dates - those elements will remain visible.

  • Obscure Terms or Unsupported Languages: If a CV uses unusual terminology, non-standard labels, or languages and scripts not fully supported, the parser may fail to recognise the data and therefore not redact it.

If you encounter any CVs that have not been redacted as expected, please reach out to our Support team so we can investigate and resolve the issue.
