Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) can be setup within Talos, which adds an extra layer of security to your login, as you will be prompted to enter a 6 digit code which is randomly generated within your MFA application of choice.

Information: The MFA authentication method will need to be switched on, on your Talos system. Please raise a ticket here with our Support Team and they will be able to enable this on your system.

Once MFA has been enabled as an authentication method on your Talos system, the next time you login to Talos, you will be prompted to setup your MFA account:

You will need to download an Authenticator app from the app store on your mobile device. Please see below for links to the Google Play and Apple App stores:

Once this has been downloaded and the initial set up has been completed, you can add your Talos account to this app. You can scan the QR code or click on the ‘Follow alternative steps’ link which will show a code to set this up.

Note: this guide has been completed using an Android phone using the Microsoft Authenticator app. This may differ slightly to an iOS device.

To add a new account, click on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner and click on 'Add Account':

You will then be given options on if this is a personal account, work account or other account. This will more than likely be your work account, as this will be linked to your work email address. For this guide, work account was chosen, along with ‘Scan a QR code’:

Once the QR code has been scanned, this will automatically add the account to your Authenticator app:

Tap the newly created authentication profile and this will display a 6-digit code. The new code will need to be inputted on the login screen on your PC for the first time after setting MFA up.

Note: the 6 digit code that is generated in the Authentication app will refresh every 30 seconds for security.

Important: If you lose access to your mobile device that MFA has been set up on, or your mobile device breaks, this can reset within Talos.

Please raise a case with the Support Team who will be able to assist with this. A new device will be needed to set up MFA again and link this back up to your Talos account.
