Video Screening can be used to ask specific questions to candidates and they answer this with a video response.

This can help to get a better understanding of a candidate, how they answer questions before progressing them further in their recruitment journey.

Note: you will need access to the 'Video Screening Admin' administration module to create question sets.

Creating a Question Set

To create a new question set, you will need to access the 'Manage Screening Questions' administration screen when signed into Talos.

Here, you can review and amend any question sets that have already been created, or archive these if they are no longer needed.

To create a new question set, click on 'Add New Set' in the upper right-hand corner of the screen:

This will load the screen to create a new question set:

  • Question Set Name - the name of the question set.

  • Approximate Time to Complete - how long approximately it should take the candidate to complete the screening.

  • Welcome Text - the text that is shown to the candidate prior to them starting the screening.

  • Thank you Text - the text that is shown to the candidate after they have completed the screening.

  • Question - the question that is shown to the candidate to answer.

  • Auto Record After - how long in minutes that recording should start. This can also be set as 'do not auto record' so the candidate can record when they are ready.

  • Maximum Answer Length (minutes) - how long in minutes the candidate has to answer the question. This can also be set to unlimited.

  • Maximum Attempts - How many attempts the candidate has to record their answer.

  • Actions - move the question in the order and delete the question if required.

Additional questions can be added under the 'Add New Question' section.

Once you are happy with the question set, click on 'Save New Set' in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Note: you can have as many questions added to a question set, however, we would advise only having around 4-5 questions maximum to keep the candidate engagement.

Assigning Video Screening Question Set

Navigate to the vacancy that you would like to assign a video screen question set to and click on the 3 dot menu and click on 'Job Settings':

Select 'Video Settings' and then 'Video Screening and then click on 'Add a Question Set':

This will load a pop-out for you to assign a new question set to the vacancy. Select the relevant question set from the dropdown and how many days before the question set expires (this can be set to unlimited). Alternatively, you can select the expiry date:

Note: if an expiry setting has been added to the question set, once the date has been reached, this will not allow any remaining candidates to completed their question set if they have still not completed their screening.

Once the question set has been assigned, click on 'Save Changes' to update the job with the new question set:

Info: If you need to make amendments to the question set, such as extending the expiry date, the question set will need to be unassigned and re-added to the job.
